I soon found that since I was a boy, country stores have gotten lazy when it comes to biscuit making. Nothing’s homemade any more. It’s all Pillsbury they tell me, and they can’t even give me the name of the sausage maker. This one was by far the best, but just because it had spent the shortest amount of time under the heat lamp and they’d brushed extra butter over it. At the end of my journey I ended up with a sick stomach and nothing really to write about.
